About Us

Empowering Survivors, Ending Gender-Based Violence

Who We Are

At Scattered Family #Road to Recovery, we are a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to combating gender-based violence (GBV) and providing a safe space for survivors. We work tirelessly to end violence and discrimination against individuals based on their gender, including domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and harassment. Our mission is to empower survivors, advocate for justice, and create systemic change that ensures equality and safety for all.

Our Mission

Our mission is to eradicate gender-based violence through awareness, education, advocacy, and survivor support. We believe that everyone, regardless of gender, has the right to live free from violence and fear. We aim to provide:

  • Crisis intervention services for survivors of GBV
  • Educational programs to raise awareness about gender-based violence
  • Legal support for survivors seeking justice
  • Safe housing and refuge for those escaping dangerous situations

What We Do

At Scattered Family, we address gender-based violence from multiple angles to ensure comprehensive support for survivors. Our key initiatives include:

  • Counseling and Support Services: We offer free, confidential support to survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and gender discrimination.
  • Education and Training: Our programs are designed to educate communities about the harmful effects of GBV and how they can help prevent it.
  • Advocacy and Policy Change: We advocate for stronger laws and policies to protect individuals from GBV and hold perpetrators accountable.
  • Community Outreach: We work directly with vulnerable populations, including women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community, to spread awareness and provide direct assistance.

Why Gender-Based Violence?

Gender-based violence is a global issue affecting millions of people, primarily women and girls, but also men and individuals of all gender identities. GBV stems from deeply entrenched social norms, gender inequality, and discrimination. By addressing the root causes and offering tangible support to survivors, we can help end the cycle of violence.

  • 1 in 3 women experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.
  • Every 16 minutes, someone is sexually assaulted in our community.

Our Commitment to Equality and Safety

We believe in a world where everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality. Our work is grounded in the principles of human rights, and we are committed to dismantling the systems that perpetuate violence and inequality.

Scattered Family is proud to partner with local and international organizations, law enforcement, and legal experts to create a safer, more just world for all.
